You take every job assuming it is a good one; yet at any point your intuition tells you something has changed. It could be the organization or you. Regardless, only you can fix your work and your life. Learn to do that with author Kathleen (Kate) Goggin and rewrite your own career rules today.

Full of inspirational and often humorous stories from someone who’s “been there, done that,” Kate combines personal narrative with practical and actionable steps. Her stories are real-world scenarios that go beyond strategy to demonstrate how you can make positive career changes and advancements.

Kate’s book focuses on personal and professional development, such as regaining confidence and using emotional intelligence to navigate your career skillfully. It also includes clarity on emerging workplace trends and guidance for making career transitions that help you find a better work-life balance and avoid burnout.

The guided journal exercises allow readers to actively apply what they’ve learned as they reflect on their career choices, giving them new insights into their own career journeys.

A former federal spokesperson and current certified technical writer, Kathleen Goggin has consulted for private industry clients in international business, and federal agencies, including the U.S. State Department, the U.S. Department of the Interior, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. She is a member of the Center for Plain Language and the Society for Technical Communication and holds a degree in Communications Consulting from George Mason University.
